Ethoughts Evolving
WEEKLIES: When you call something a "weekly", you tend to shoot for a weekly installment. I skipped a week as some of you might have noticed. I've been doing this weekly weakly. I think I should change the name, because I'm not sure I can meet my own expectations for ethoughts in the short term. Regardless, I'm begging your patience.
AUTISM: Some amazing things happened since I wrote. Nathan learned to ride on two wheels. That was brilliant to witness. Seeing my son's gapped-toothed and wide grinned son barreling down the street, as he peddled his wobbling bicycle was a dream come true, for all of us. It was a milestone on many levels, to tell you the truth. School is still rough for him, but he's seeing some success.
Kudos to Jenny McCarthy for raising autism awareness, and for her new book, "Louder Than Words", which is giving many parents of children with autism hope where there was none.
PUBLISHING: My agent has told me there is some interest in a Bible Study series I am proposing, so I covet your prayers as I write some of those chapters to woo their interest further.
SCHOOL: Graduate school is challenging to say the least, but reentry is settled out a bit. Now things are more manageable, less terrifying. The territory certain comes with eye strain though!
A RING TO REMEMBER: As a way to relax I started crafting wire beaded rings. My friend Cindy came up with the wonderful thought of calling these creations "Stones of Remembrnace". The idea came from the Biblical theme of Remebrance Stones of the children of Israel set up to be reminders of a significant event, working or marvel of God, or important spiritual truth. As I work on them, instead of a just a mindless way to unwind from the tedious day, I am praying over each ring. I am lifting up the person who will eventually own it, and wear it. God knows that person already. He knows them intimately. He knows this one's particular struggle, pain, and challenge. When the ring gets to that particular finger, it will have a special meaning for that person and God, and I will have been praying for that ahead of time. There is a lot of love going into each one. It is my hope, that this "remembering stone" will be a source of hope or comfort each time they each they see it on their hand throughout the day. I'm making a number of rings to take with me to the women's retreat where I'm speaking the first weekend in October. Please join with me in prayer that each woman there is touched in a special way. I hope this remembering stone idea will be an added help in some way to those who wish to use that visual aid.
BOOKS: Condsider buying the book that's coming out in October called "Out of the Ooze: Letters to the Church from Beyond the Pew". Profits go to charity, and I'm one of the contributors in that book. Another sure-to-be-great read is the widely anticipated "Re-thinking Woldview" by J. Mark Bertrand coming in October.
That's it for this week, and this weak. Ethoughts as of now is "ethoughts randomly", so please, pretty please, don't hold it against me!
